AVANCE Parent Child Education Program
The Parent Child Program serves families with children birth-4 years old. This program, offered half a day per week over nine months, provides comprehensive parenting classes as well as on-site early childhood development activities for the children of the parents. Most sites also offer ESL classes and GED classes. AVANCE parenting classes include different lessons, educational toys made from simple materials, community resource speakers, and parent-child together activities.
Lessons cover childhood illnesses, behavior and discipline, safety and supervision, learning basic concepts, and social and emotional needs. For more information, contact Sonia Maldonado, Program Coordinator, at (915) 351-2419 or smaldonado@avance-elpaso.org.
